Checkers

Checkers is a traditional board game played between two players. It is a variation of the game Draughts (or English draughts), and uses the same board. The board has 64 alternating dark and light squares. The game pieces are similar to flat, round disks and may be black or red. The board is positioned so that each player has a light square in the corner of their right side of the table.

A player moves a piece forward diagonally by jumping over an opponent’s piece. This move is called a capture. A piece that reaches the last rank is promoted to king and can be moved both forward and backward. A player cannot move his or her own king in the same turn.

Rummy

Rummy is a card game where players try to arrange their cards into sets and sequences. The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards and requires two to six players. Unlike other card games, rummy has many variations and strategies that can increase your chances of winning.

The main goal of rummy is to create melds, which are combinations of three or more cards in the same rank. These can be either runs, which are three or more consecutive cards of the same suit, or sets, which consist of a group of four or more cards of the same value. Each player starts with 13 cards, and a joker is selected as the wild card.

Each player can draw a card from the stock pile or discard pile during his turn. The drawn card can be used in a valid set or a sequence, but it cannot replace an existing card. If the player does not declare a valid combination within his turn, he will lose the game.
